In English, pronouns are words that are used in place of a noun to refer to a person, place, or thing.   • Subject pronouns are pronouns that are used as the subject of a verb in a sentence. In English, the subject pronouns are “I,” “you,” “he,” “she,” “it,” “we,” and “they”

She is my best friend.” (In this sentence, “she” is the subject pronoun.)

  • Object pronouns are pronouns that are used as the object of a verb or preposition in a sentence. In English, the object pronouns are “me,” “you,” “him,” “her,” “it,” “us,” and “them,”

“She gave the book to me.” (In this sentence, “me” is the object pronoun.)

  • Possessive Adjectives are words that are used with a noun to show possession or ownership. In English, the possessive adjectives are “my,” “your,” “his,” “her,” “its,” “our,” and “their.”

Her dog is very friendly.” (In this sentence, “her” is the possessive adjective showing possession of the dog.)

  • Possessive pronouns are pronouns that are used to show ownership or possession. In English, the possessive pronouns are “mine,” “yours,” “his,” “hers,” “its,” “ours,” and “theirs.”

“The pen is yours.” (In this sentence, “yours” is the possessive pronoun showing ownership.)

Possessive pronouns are different from possessive adjectives, which are used with a noun to show possession.
